چکیده

High Performance Continuous-time Filters for InformationTransfer Systems. (August 2003)Ahmed Nader Mohieldin, B.Sc., Cairo University, Egypt;M.Sc., Cairo University, Egypt;Chair of Advisory Committee: Dr. Edgar Sánchez-Sinencio Vast attention has been paid to active continuous-time filters over the years. Thus asthe cheap, readily available integrated circuit OpAmps replaced their discrete circuitversions, it became feasible to consider active-RC filter circuits using large numbers ofOpAmps. Similarly the development of integrated operational transconductanceamplifier (OTA) led to new filter configurations. This gave rise to OTA-C filters, usingonly active devices and capacitors, making it more suitable for integration. The demandson filter circuits have become ever more stringent as the world of electronics andcommunications has advanced. In addition, the continuing increase in the operatingfrequencies of modern circuits and systems increases the need for active filters that canperform at these higher frequencies; an area where the LC active filter emerges. Whatmainly limits the performance of an analog circuit are the non-idealities of the usedbuilding blocks and the circuit architecture. This research concentrates on the designissues of high frequency continuous-time integrated filters.Several novel circuit building blocks are introduced. A novel pseudo-differentialfully balanced fully symmetric CMOS OTA architecture with inherent common-mode

Performance of Biological hydrogen Production Process from Synthesis Gas, Mass Transfer in Batch and Continuous Bioreactors

Biological hydrogen production by anaerobic bacterium, Rhodospirillum rubrum was studied in batch and continuous bioreactors using synthesis gas (CO) as substrate. The systems were operated at ambient temperature and pressure. Correlations available in the literature were used to estimate the gas-liquid mass transfer coefficients (KLa) in batch reactor. Based on experimental results for the con...

Design of Optimal Digital IIR Filters using the Genetic Algorithm

This paper presents an evolutionary design of digital IIR filters using the genetic algorithm (GA) with modified genetic operators and real-valued encoding. Conventional digital IIR filter design methods involve algebraic transformations of the transfer function of an analog low-pass filter (LPF) that satisfies prescribed filter specifications. Other types of frequency-selective digital filters...

A New Method for Improving Computational Cost of Open Information Extraction Systems Using Log-Linear Model

Information extraction (IE) is a process of automatically providing a structured representation from an unstructured or semi-structured text. It is a long-standing challenge in natural language processing (NLP) which has been intensified by the increased volume of information and heterogeneity, and non-structured form of it. One of the core information extraction tasks is relation extraction wh...
